BLACKPINK – is the latest girl group from YG Entertainment. On 29th June this year, their debut was announced and their first music video BOOMBAYAH came out on 8th August. In only 2 days it has got almost 3 million views and is receiving rave reviews everywhere.
THE MEMBERS:
The band consists of 4 members. YG initially thought of putting 9 girls in the team but later decided to go with 4. These girls are:
- JENNIE
Jennie Kim is the leader and main rapper of the group. Born in 1996, Jennie is fluent in Korean, Japanese and English. She comes from Netherlands and was featured in G-Dragon’s “That XX”, “Black”, Lee Hi’s “Special” and Seungri’s “GG Be”.
- LISA
Lisa, short for, Lalisa Manoban comes from Thailand. She was born in 1997 and is the main dancer and maknae in the group. She was the only person chosen at the YG Audition in Thailand 2010. GOT7’s Bambam is her childhood friend since both of them were in the dance crew We Zaa Cool. She appeared in Taeyang’s “Ringa Linga”.
- ROSE
Rose or Roseanne Park Chaeyoung is the other maknae in this group. Also born in 1997, she comes from Australia and is the main vocal. She sang alongside G-Dragon in his track “Without You”.
- JISOO
Kim Jisoo is the oldest in the group, born in 1995. She has appeared in multiple projects like KBS’s Producer, Hisuhyun’s “I’m Different” and many other. She has recently been coming in the limelight for having striking similarities with another kpop group BTS’s member Jin.
LATEST VIDEO:
Few hours ago their latest video “Whistle” was published and again, is gaining popularity every minute. The current views number stand at 2,148,337.
