The worldwide famous Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana have recently released their very first abaya and hijab collection.
The collection was revealed exclusively on Arabia’s Style.com on Sunday. Few months back designer Stefano Gabbana stated on The National:
I’m really fascinated with the Middle East and we’ve just completed a prêt-a-porter collection of abayas and sheylas. Pieces have some lace, embroidery and some prints – but not too much.
The designer duo was inspired by their own Spring/Summer 2016 collection and mostly portrayed their trademark floral prints on the attires. The dresses come mostly in black and white colors on georgette and satin fabric. Some glimpses of this limited edition are here –
Last year on September, another renowned fashion house H&M also promoted Islamic fashion by unveiling their new fall collection with a Muslim girl called Maria Hidrissi as the model. It projected a very simple yet chic look without disgracing the principles of the Muslim community.
More and more appreciation are coming the Muslim fashionistas’ way. More fashion houses are acknowledging the huge and highly profitable market for Islamic apparels. It’s a good time to be alive for the fashionistas!
